City of Waukesha Ion Exchange Softener Salt Optimization Program General Training

Residents of Waukesha using ion exchange water softeners will be directed to contact companies and personnel from a city-approved list for the specific brand they have in their home.  To be on the list of approved optimizers, personnel must complete this general ion exchange softener optimization training session, pass the brief quiz, and complete additional training from softener manufacturers. Please note that some manufacturers’ training may only be available to distributors of those manufacturers’ equipment.

Eligibility for the WQA IX Softener Optimization training requires a minimum of 6 months’ experience servicing water softeners* AND written agreement from at least 1 of the equipment manufacturers** providing product-specific training. Please see below to download the eligibility verification forms and to find a list of brand names and contacts for manufacturers providing training.

Individuals who attended one of the live WQA IX Softener Optimization training sessions on either June 26, 2018; July 12, 2018; or March 20, 2019 do not need to complete this training. 

Use the Manufacturer Training Verification form to receive verification from manufacturers for their training. Training will be scheduled with the manufacturer independently of WQA. Verification of completion of both the WQA General Training and the Manufacturer-specific training is needed to be listed on the city of Waukesha’s list of approved optimizers for residential ion exchange water softeners.
