WQA is offering a pathway to certification reinstatement for past certified personnel. Your certification demonstrates your commitment to upholding high professional standards and serves as an example to your colleagues and customers.
WQA's Certification Amnesty Program offers eligible personnel to reinstate their certification by retaking one of the basic exams*.
Please review the eligibility requirements below to determine if you can reinstate your certification through testing. Past CWS-V, -VI, or MWS title holders lapsed for more than 3 years will be able to reinstate at the CWS level, only, and may then pursue MWS under current training requirements.
Amnesty Program Eligibility
- Provide proof of past WQA certification, such as a WQA-issued certificate or ID card, if your certification lapsed earlier than 2014.
- Provide proof of continuous active engagement in the work relevant to the certification title being pursued in the last 3 years. Proof can include a brief letter from an employer or a colleague, or business registration paperwork
- You have not reinstated through testing twice in the last 8 years
*Basic exams are the Certified Water Specialist (CWS), Certified Installer (CI), and Certified Water-Treatment Representative (CWR, formerly, CSR).
If you meet the eligibility requirements, please review the exams scheduling information and Study Guides off the Testing page. WQA members may use their complementary access to the online Knowledge Base to help prepare.
