A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on 25 April. Authorities report well over 3,000 people have been killed and many buildings have collapsed in the capital, Kathmandu. As search and rescue efforts continue, hospitals in the capital continue to function but are stretched to the limit. WQA is thrilled to announce that third-party certification is finally coming to the State of Wisconsin. Effective Saturday, September 27, 2014, water treatment devices certified for material safety and contaminant reduction by an American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-accredited body will no longer need State approval to be sold in Wisconsin.
