Strong turnout anticipated for WQA Convention
New features, old favorites offered at Las Vegas event April 23-25
LISLE, Ill. (April 17, 2019) – Registrations are strong and the Las Vegas Convention Center trade show floor is completely booked with less than a week to go before the 2019 Water Quality Association Convention & Exposition April 23-25. Attendees can look forward to hearing results of the 2019 Consumer Opinion Study, insights from industry leaders and inspiring words from keynote speaker Marilyn Sherman on “Front-Row Leadership.”
For the first time this year, WQA is offering a one-day pass that offers access to all education sessions and the trade show on Thursday, April 25, only; cost is $95 for WQA members, $195 for non-members. You can buy the pass or register for the full convention ($185 for WQA members, $325 for non-members) through online registration; registration prices increase April 23.
Education sessions are offered on all three days, including topics such as trending legislative issues, emerging contaminants like PFAS, chlorides reduction strategies and updates on the latest research in water quality. Most of the courses offer Continuing Professional Development credit toward certification, and the professional certification exam is offered at a discount during the event.
Attendees will find a new look and feel to the floor of this year’s trade show April 24 and 25. The main path through the show floor, “Main Street WQA,” will offer wide walkways, park benches and interactive opportunities for attendees in the midst of the busy exposition, which offers opportunities to learn about the latest products and services in drinking water treatment.
“Business Spotlights” will be featured in a pop-up room in the exposition hall. Sponsoring companies have 30-minute sessions in the room to do a product demonstration, tutorial or infomercial.
A New Attendee Breakfast, Opening Reception, special events for Young Professionals and Women in Industry, and committee and section meetings throughout the convention provide opportunities for attendees to get to know others in the industry or get involved in WQA.
For the second year in a row, WQA’s Business Boot Camp will be offered alongside the convention. This year focusing on finances, human resources and leadership, Boot Camp is an intensive one-day workshop in all aspects of running a water treatment business. It will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26 at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort.
WQA also offers a pre-convention Commercial/Industrial RO Sizing workshop on Monday, April 22, and the Water Quality Research Foundation is sponsoring a Run/Walk for Research 5K and one-mile event that will take place down the Las Vegas Strip on April 25.
Complete Convention information is available at wqa.org/convention.
