WQA announces capital campaign for new facility
Contributors create lasting legacies within walls of headquarters building
LISLE, Ill. (Oct. 20, 2020) – The Water Quality Association has announced a $400,000 capital campaign to assist with its relocation to an expanded, more modern international headquarters and laboratory facility. Participating in “Building Our Vision” through the end of 2020 allows the water treatment industry to support its trade association with expanded and improved facilities and resources aligned with the growing needs, tremendous opportunities and expansion of the industry.
“We are so grateful for our members’ strong support of WQA as the industry pulled together during the unexpected and unpredictable COVID-19 pandemic to provide essential services during the stay-at-home orders,” said WQA Executive Director Pauli Undesser. “We are proud to support all our dedicated members and industry partners, who make what we do possible, and look forward to providing them lasting recognition at our beautiful new facility.”
After two years of research and planning, during which WQA consistently achieved a solid level of financial strength and performance, the WQA Board of Directors in 2019 officially approved the relocation plan. Early in 2020 the association sold its 1982 headquarters building to a nearby non-profit group with an agreement that WQA could maintain business in the space until it completes the move. The new facility is located about a mile away in the same Chicago suburb of Lisle, Ill.
Already, more than $260,000 of the $400,000 Building Our Vision goal has been raised. Most of the current contributions are by companies that had planned to exhibit at or sponsor the 2020 WQA Convention and Exposition, which was canceled because of health and safety issues surrounding the pandemic. Now the capital campaign is open to any company or individual who would like to support WQA’s growth during a critical time in the water treatment industry.
Contributors at varying levels receive added and lasting direct recognition in the new building and at upcoming WQA events. For more details, or to contribute, please visit wqa.org/buildingourvision.
